Mary Ide

I have always been a dog lover. As a child, my family always had at least one (usually two or three) dogs.

I adopted my pug, Bradley, from PAWS almost a year ago. I was so touched by everything PAWS does and all the wonderful people that make it all possible. I knew that I wanted to help out in some way, so I started volunteering for PAWS.

I started redesigning their website and fostering dogs. About 5 months later, I adopted a second dog (another pug) from PAWS. I named her Bella. Bella and Bradley are the best of friends and I couldn’t imagine my life without them!

I feel honored to be a part of an organization that is making such a big difference in the lives of these wonderful animals. My daughter has also learned a lot and likes to help me out with the fosters. When one of my fosters is adopted, I am always a bit sad to see them go, especially ones that had been with me for awhile. But that feeling is far outweighed with the happiness of knowing that he/she finally has a forever home.

I know that “Saving one animal won’t make a difference in the world – but it will make a world of difference for that one animal.”
