I started fostering Boston Terriers after rescuing two of my own – my first experience having my own dogs – I fell in love by photo and got the most wonderful dogs every born. I loved the whole process so much I decided to help more like my own.
After awhile, I realized that the mixed breeds, older dogs and maybe those not so perfect dogs really needed help and I haphazardly met Kelly and Traci and it was like something just clicked – I’m not sure how they feel but I know I knew instantly they were my kind of girls and we set out to really make life different for these dogs that people forgot. I have learned more from these two women and all the dogs I’ve fostered than from any other human in my life.

There is something about getting a scared dog off a truck who might not be feeling so great, have scars both physical and mental from a life not lived well one day and two or three days later taking a photo of them in the yard lying in the sun. There’s this moment I notice in every single dog – that one moment when they know they are safe and protected – I can’t catch it on film but it makes all the days I wonder if I’m insane worth every second….
