How Does My Dog Get To Me?

So, now you've chosen your dog and he/she lives far away in one of our fosters or clinics in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas or somewhere else - you're wondering, how do they get them here?
Paws NE uses several wonderful pet transport companies - all are USDA approved and we've come to know these people and trust them 100% - any of us would put our own dogs in their care so we have no hesitation putting yours with them.

We use the transport company that most easily accommodates the wonderful volunteers we have down south in getting your dog(s) to the meeting spots for the transports - it can depends on what city and state or really the day of the week - we trust them all so it almost doesn't matter - whatever works for all concerned - most importantly, we get your new furry friend to you!

The companies we use most are listed below - feel free to visit their websites and if you'd like, contact them directly to ask questions (or certainly you can ask your adoption coordinator).

WE CANNOT STRESS THIS NEXT POINT ENOUGH: In the last month, several dogs have become loose at transport - it took one family 3 weeks to find the dog that they waited for - these dogs don't know where they are so PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR DOG OFF THE TRANSPORT TRUCK - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD HOLD OF THE LEASH - DO NOT GET DISTRACTED OR LET YOUR CHILDREN HOLD THE LEASH. The transporters will use your leash like a noose - do not remove this until you are in your car - they will not put a collar on them - too much room for error if it is too loose. Bring it with you to put on in the car but be sure it fits!

Note: If your dog is already in New England, you have most likely already arranged a meeting and pick up.
